QR codes you create (links, text, Wi-Fi details, UPI payment IDs, contact cards, phone numbers, SMS, email, locations and WhatsApp links) and codes you scan are processed on your device. Your history is saved in a local database on your phone. None of it is sent to Group of Dada, and we have no server that stores it.
Scanning uses your camera and Google ML Kit barcode scanning, which runs on the device. Camera images are analysed in real time and are not saved or uploaded.
When you tap an action on a scanned code, such as opening a link, paying through a UPI app, saving a contact, calling, sending an SMS or email, or joining a Wi-Fi network, the app hands that information to the app or Android feature you chose. From then on, that app's own privacy policy applies. Before you open any link or payment, check that you trust the QR code.
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Camera | Scanning QR and barcodes |
| Internet and network state | Opening links you choose, Google Play in-app updates and in-app review. The app does not send your codes or history anywhere. |
| Vibration | Short feedback when a code is detected |
The app uses Google ML Kit (on-device barcode scanning) and Google Play's in-app update and in-app review features. Google may process technical data for these features under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
You can delete items from the history inside the app, or remove everything by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it. Because we do not store your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
The app is not directed at children under 13, and it does not collect personal data from anyone.
If we ever add a feature that collects data (for example analytics or ads), we will update this page with a new effective date before that version is released. Questions: official@groupofdada.com.
